WFS is excited to launch our 2nd year of Grains of Hope!
Our first year was a huge success raising over:
$0.5 million
Of the 1 billion hungry people on the planet today, 70% of them are famers. Grains of Hope provides an opportunity to make a tangible difference in these farmers’ lives.
In 2010, WFS launch Grains of Hope in partnership with CFGB and MCC Ontario with the goal of giving customers the opportunity to enlarge the size of their farm community. Like pulling into your neighbour’s field to lend a helping hand when an unexpected tragedy strikes, Grains of Hope is a way you can help other farmers who may be experiencing difficult times.
How to Participate
- Fill out the participation form and return it to WFS by mail or with your sales rep
- WFS will contribute $100/acre donated *
- Donate the proceeds from your donated acres to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB)
- Celebrate with us at a banquet in February 2012
* Note: Cash donations can be made if you do not have a crop to donate. WFS will send a 20% matching donation to CFGB for all cash donations.
Even a small donation makes a big difference. With the Canadian International Development Agency’s matching program every dollar donated becomes $5 for CFGB to spend on its food programs, such as Sand Dams in Kenya (click here to learn more about Sand Dams).
What an amazing return on your investment. In partnership with WFS, your contribution of one, five, even ten acres or more could help us reach our target of 500 acres. More importantly, your participation will help hungry farmers, their families, and their communities.
