Today we announced to our employees that we have reached an agreement to purchase Great Lakes Nutrition, a premix company based in Monkton, Ontario. A copy of our announcement is listed on the reverse of this letter.
Great Lakes Nutrition (“GLN”) is an independent company specializing in the formulation and manufacture of feed premixes, supplements and forage additives for ruminants and swine. Established over 10 years ago, they have grown rapidly by providing quality products and exceptional service to their clients.
Why did we do this?
Our focus at WFS is to provide a complete package of leading edge nutrition and customer service so that our customers can meet their goals. We have worked closely with GLN over the years and have grown to admire and respect their similar focus on helping their customers succeed with innovative solutions. WFS has been, and will continue to be, very strong in poultry. GLN is a major force in the ruminant business. WFS and GLN combine to provide the complete spectrum of feeding strategies for the swine industry.
We are extremely pleased to be able to offer this enhanced coverage to Ontario agriculture.

Wallenstein Feed & Supply and Great Lakes Nutrition to merge
Wallenstein and Monkton Ontario (August) – Wallenstein Feed & Supply (WFS) announced today that it has reached an agreement to purchase 100% of Great Lakes Nutrition (GLN). The transaction is scheduled to close September 30 th, 2009.
“Both WFS and GLN have a similar history of leadership in the Ontario livestock nutrition marketplace and we’re extremely pleased to be joining the team of a very likeminded company” said John Rheaume, President of GLN. “The combination of WFS and GLN will permit us to offer an even greater product choice to our customers.”
